Melanie Sue Lane

Melanie Sue Lane, age 50, of Andover, OH, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the Andover Village Retirement Community. She was born March 6, 1964, in Chardon, OH, a daughter of Charles R. and Sherie E. (Bowers) McClure. A lifelong Andover resident, Melanie was employed by Bay Shore Campgrounds as groundskeeper for ten years. She also was a cook at the Andover Diner and the former Wishing Well Restaurant in Andover. Melanie belonged to the Andover Garden Club as she enjoyed gardening and also doing crafts. Melanie loved her six Pugs. She is survived by her husband, Ron Lane, whom she married September 29, 1980, of Andover; her daughter, Nakisha M. Lane of Conneaut,OH; her son, Justin R.Lane of Rome, OH; her four grandchildren, Brittney Ann, Delaunte, Haylee, and Justin, Jr.;her mother, Sherie McClure of Andover; her sister, Valerie J. (Jim) Kean of Linesville, PA; her brother, Charles C. (Kim) McClure of Andover; four nieces, Courtney McClure, Cassie McClure, Lynsey McClure, and Morgan McClure; and her best friend, Sue Smith of Andover. She is preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents, George E.and Lona M. (Miller) Bowers. Melanie will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover, OH, with Pastor Robert Gears and Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Calling hours will be held Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service.
