Merlin D. "Jim" Sutton, age 87, of Kinsman, OH, died Thursday, August 4, 2011, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, OH. He was born January 18, 1924, in Kinsman, OH, a son of Walter Dean Sutton and Addye Belle (Wall) Sutton. A lifetime Kinsman resident, Jim served in the U.S. Army and earned a purple heart as a veteran of World War II. He was employed as a truck driver for Harnett Trucking in Kinsman for over forty years. He was a member of the Harry Lees Post #0506 American Legion, Kinsman, and the Burdette Edgar Totten VFW Post #6263, Gustavus. Jim married Marjorie F. (Whyte) on June 23, 1950; and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2000. Also preceding him in death are his parents; and one brother, Malry Sutton. He is survived by his daughter, Kitrina A. Matheny of Mineral Ridge, OH; his granddaughter, Sherry (Jeff) Deeter of Akron,OH; his great-granddaughter, Brianna Deeter of Akron; and his three sisters, Betty Mae Gruskiewicz of Wayne Township, OH, Margy Powell of Kinsman, OH, and Marie Miller of Gustavus Township, OH. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery.
