Minnie I. P. Smith

FARMDALE- Minnie I. P. Smith, age 88, passed away early in the morning on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Shepherd of the Valley.

Born January 10, 1936, in Silver Hill, WV, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Ocie (Morris) Postlethwait.

Mrs. Smith was a dedicated homemaker, raising six children and wife to Earl Smith. Married May 7, 1954, they had celebrated 70 years together. In her spare time, Mrs. Smith enjoyed tending to her vegetable gardens, canning, reading and bowling. She was a member of the former Kinsman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she held various offices.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Earl "Peewee" Smith; five children, Earl (Alice) Smith, Jr. of Gustavus, Rose (Neal) Gwin of Gustavus, Mark (Marisa) Smith of Campbell, Tracy (Nancy) Smith of Vernon, Dawn (Gordon) Schmucker of Leetonia; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Yoho of Warren and Shirley Higgins of Champion; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey Smith; siblings, Eugene, Ronald, Norman, Donnie, Thelma Louise, Nolda Doris, Imogene, Marie, and Marjorie.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00AM to 12:00PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, OH 44428, immediately followed by the funeral service starting at 12noon. Pastor Jim Smith, her nephew of North Bloomfield, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gustavus Cemetery.
