Williamsfield, Ohio - Mitchell Emerson Singrey, Sgt. First Class (Retired), 47, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005 of cancer in Brecksville, Ohio at the Veterans Medical Center. He was born on September 30, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio to Harold E. and Joyce A. (Gillespie) Singrey. Formerly of Warren, Ohio, Sgt. Singrey was a 1977 graduate of Clearwater High School in Florida. Sgt. Singrey joined the United States Army in 1977 and was assigned to the 66th Military Intelligence Group in Munich, Germany, then the 10th Mt. Division at Ft. Drum, New York, moving on to the 164th MI Company at Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey where he was assigned to the Pentagon, he was then apart of the Joint Task Force Camp H.M. Smith Hawaii, retiring from Ft. Riley, 1st Infantry Division in June of 1995. He was then employed for the National Security Consults in Warren, Ohio for 8 years. Sgt. Singrey enjoyed making models, helping out on the family farm and spending time with his nephews and pets. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Graydon & Alma Singrey, Veteran grandfather Carl Gillespie, infant sister, Janice, infant brother, Mark, and Veteran Uncle Raymond Singrey. Sgt. Singrey is survived by his parents of Williamsfield, a sister, Pamela S. Baxter, of Vernon, Ohio, nephews, Fred and Todd Baxter, grandmother, Marian Spengler, Aunt Donna Singrey, and cousins, David Singrey, Teresa Singrey, Michele (William) Springer, Uncle David (Carol) Gillespie, Uncle Richard (Laraine) Gillespie, Uncle Darl (Judi) Foltz, Aunt Nancy (Richard) Kreitling, Fiancee Lisa Parton & close friends Walker, Lewis & Audrey DeMasters and son Chuck, and good friends Frank & Beth Landrum, and Gary, Andrea, and Sharon. Private graveside services will be held at Hayes Cemetery, Wayne, Ohio at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
