Myron C. Smith

Myron C. Smith, age 89, of Gustavus Township,OH, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at his home. He was born July 31, 1919, in Cleveland,OH, the son of Harold and Hildred (Barton) Smith. A long time Gustavus resident, Mr. Smith grew up in Cleveland and was a 1937 Shaw High School graduate. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army in England and Germany. He retired in 1978 as superintendent for the Trumbull County Highway Department. He also owned and operated a farm for many years. Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Patrick (Patricia) Smith of Andover, OH, a daughter, Pam Bowser of Cortland,OH, a daughter, Linda Goldner of Cortland, OH, a son, Hank (Carla) Smith of Hartford, OH; twelve grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Mr. Smith married Audrey H. (Beach) on February 24, 1945, and she preceded him in death on May 8, 1999. Also preceding him in death are a son-in-law, Ray Goldner; a sister, Mary Louise Smith; a brother, Leon Smith, and an infant brother. A private graveside service will be held for the family in Gustavus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 St. Rt. 193, Farmdale, OH 44417.
