NANCY A. GIAURTIS, 63, of Gustavus, Ohio, died peacefully on July 17, 2005, at her home, where she wanted to be, surrounded by her loving family. A resident of Gustuvus for the past 23 years, Mrs. Giaurtis was formerly of Warren, where she attended Warren G. Harding High School. She was born on January 24, 1942 in New Manchester, West Virginia to Delmas and Nellie (Barnett) Kay. On November 8, 1958 she married John Giaurtis Jr. Mrs. Giaurtis was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother; had a great sense of humor; and was a caring and unselfish person. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church, where she belonged to the the Ladies Aid. She loved to travel, especially to their vacation home in Stuart, Florida, where she loved to fish and was John's best fishing partner. She enjoyed cooking, camping, gardening, flower arranging, and bird watching. Mrs. Giaurtis is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carole Lynn Kay and a brother Thomas Kay. She is survived by her husband John of Gustavus, sons John Giaurtis III of Warren, and David W. Giaurtis of Johnston and daughters Diana L. Fauvie of Warren and Kimberly A. Giaurtis of Johnston, Grandchildren Bethany, Alexis, Joshua, Lynae, Allison, Billy and great granddaughter Chesney and a brother Gerald Kay of Fowler, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at Gustavus Federated Church, 8850 State Route 193, Gustavus, Ohio, with the Rev. Steven W. Trimble officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wed. July 20, 2005 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio.
