Nellie A. Scruggs

NELLIE A. SCRUGGS, age 88, of Richmond township, Ohio, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Jefferson Health Care Center in Jefferson, Ohio. She was born April 6, 1919, in Newport, Tennessee, to Jessie (Whitehead) Stewart. Mrs. Scruggs was employed by the American Greeting Card Company, the National Cole Company, and the DePaul Infant Home. She was also employed as an L.P.N. at the Cleveland Clinic for many years before retiring. Mrs. Scruggs was a member of the Greater Mount Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland,Ohio. Her hobbies included crocheting. She is survived by her son from a previous marriage to John Swagerty, William (Ruth) Swagerty, of Richmond township,OH, and was preceded in death by her second husband, Richard Scruggs in 2001. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007, at 12:30 P.M. at the Greater Mount Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, 13023 Crennell Ave., Cleveland,OH. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland. Calling hours will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 12:30 P.M. at the church.
