Andover, Ohio – Nettie Morse Carmichael Fetters, age 82, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, Pennsylvania, surrounded by her children. She was born on January 17, 1935, in Leroy, Ohio, a daughter of Julia Avis (Rogers) and Ernest Franz Morse. Nettie was a 1953 graduate of Gustavus High School. A lifetime area resident, Nettie was the office nurse for the Kinsman Clinic over thirty years and then worked for Dr. Harlan Waid, Jr. for ten years. On November 7, 1993 she married Roger D. Fetters, Sr. She was a member of the Andover First United Methodist Church and formerly attended the Methodist churches in Kinsman and Cherry Valley. Nettie belonged to the United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star, Covered Bridge Chapter No. 591 of Rock Creek and the Rebekah Albino Chapter No. 773 of Dorset. She had a passion for projects. Nettie would accept all as family, no one was a stranger, as she made friends wherever she was. Nettie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of nearly twelve years, Roger D. Fetters, Sr. and her sisters Bessie M. Siekkinen and Mary E. Clay. Survivors include two daughters, Carla E. (Hank) Smith of Hartford and Bette J. (Dominic) Gualtieri of Hiram; a son, Dennis A. (Allison) Carmichael of West Virginia; three step daughters, Gail (Gary) Graves of New Lyme, Julie (Bob) Wood, of Denmark and Jill Orris, of Rocky River; three step sons, Gary (Terri) Fetters of Arizona, Roger (Cindy) Fetters, Jr. of New Lyme, Bradley (Jodie) Fetters of Jefferson; five sisters, Almedah L. Evans of Canfield, Colleen F. Hartman of Gustavus, Susan M. Wolford of Vernon, Frances L. Hindes of Florida and Julie A. Morse of Kinsman; two brothers, Franz L. Morse of Warren and Ernest G. Morse of Austintown; twenty-six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00am at the Andover First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St. with Rev. Ric Harvel officiating. Burial will follow in Brownville Cemetery of New Lyme, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the church.
