Niles M. Austin

NILES M. AUSTIN, age 86, of Johnston township, Ohio, died Friday, November 23, 2007, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren, Ohio. He was born March 16, 1921, in Pierpont, Ohio, the son of William and Lenora (Williams) Austin. A lifetime Johnston resident, Mr. Austin was self employed as a carpenter. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Austin was a member of the Johnston Federated Church; and his hobbies included tinkering with tractors and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Betty M. (Goist) Austin, whom he married October 30, 1976, of Johnston township, OH; three sons, Terry Austin of Johnston township, OH, Tim (Carolyn) Austin of Swanton, OH, and Tom (Pat) Austin of Leroy township, OH; one daughter, Deb (Jim) Clay of Indianapolis, IN; four step children, Jim Dunbar, Kenny Dunbar, Jerry Dunbar, and Cathy Humphrey; one sister, Lois (Curt) Odom of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; three brothers; and one sister. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH. A private burial of cremated remains will take place later in Johnston Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 6 P.M. until the time of service.
