Patricia A. Jewell

Patricia A. Jewell, age 74, of Vernon Township, OH, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren,OH. She was born December 5, 1936, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Donald and Lola (Victor) Franklin, Sr. A long time Vernon resident, Mrs. Jewell was employed as a waitress for the Burghill Country Inn, a receptionist for Dr. Wilterdink's office in Cortland, and a teacher's aide for the Vernon Elementary School. She was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church, where she formerly served as a lay leader and sang in the choir. She also was a member of Eastern Star and the Coffee Club in Vernon. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, and playing cards and Yahtzee. Mrs. Jewell is survived by her husband, Alton Jewell, whom she married July 19, 1953, of Vernon Township, OH; her daughter, Paula (James) Mizner of Cortland,OH; her son, Robert (Susan) Jewell of Vernon Township,OH; and her daughter, Linda (Ronald) Roscoe of Cortland,OH; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald Franklin, Jr. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Vernon United Methodist Church, 6123 St. Rt. 7, Vernon, OH, with Pastor John Benigas officiating. Cremation will follow services. Calling hours are Monday, January 17th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the church.
