Paul Joseph Donaldson

Gustavus, Ohio - Paul Joseph Donaldson, age 86, Died on Sunday, March 23, 2014. He was born on October 31, 1927, in Middlefield, Ohio, a son of Hazel Rhoda (Chubb) and William Alexander Donaldson. Mr. Donaldson was a 1945 graduate of Middlefield High School and attended Kent State Veterinary School. He owned and operated Donaldson Feed Service of Middlefield, then the North Bloomfield Livestock Auction for many years, and also worked for Sajar Plastics of Middlefield and Industrial Automation of Greene. Mr. Donaldson attended the Fowler Community Church. He enjoyed making Maple Syrup at his homestead, tinkering with most anything, doing woodworking, gardening and raising livestock. He was known for being a lifetime entrepreneur. Mr. Donaldson is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Larry L. Donaldson, Jr; two sisters, Grace Motil and Rose Donaldson; a step-daughter, Rhonda Cmunt; a step-son, Thomas Cmunt; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Donaldson and two son-in-laws, Melvin Hunt, Jr and Art Alvarez. Survivors include four daughters, Shirley A. Alvarez of Windsor, Ohio, Judy A. (David) Schuknecht of Orlando, Florida, Rose M. (Richard) Buchman of Elgin, South Carolina and Peggy L. Hunt of Kinsman, Ohio; five sons, Larry L. (Betty) Donaldson, Sr., Charles R. (Patricia) Donaldson of West Farmington, Ohio, William P. (Susan) Donaldson of Gustavus, Ohio, Thomas A. Donaldson of Greene, Ohio and Adam Donaldson of Brooklyn, Ohio; a step-daughter, Jenny (Melvin) Slusher of Windsor, Ohio; a step-son, Charles Cmunt of Richmond, Virginia; a sister, May (Glenn) Raymond of Kinsman, Ohio; a brother, Lee (MaryAnn) Donaldson of Williamsfield, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will following Kinsman Cemetery.
