Paul Joseph Gantz

Hermitage, Pennsylvania - Paul Joseph Gantz, age 78, died on May 12, 2011 at Sharon Regional Hospital. He was born on October 9, 1932 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Hazel S. (Blair) and Sterling H. Gantz. Mr. Gantz was a 1950 graduate of Sharon High School. He served in the United States Army in the Military Police. On January 29, 1955 he married Mary Lou Reese. Formerly of California Mr. Gantz was a salesman for the JC Penny Company for over eighteen years retiring in 1999. He loved to golf and was frequently seen on the Buhl Farm Golf Course. Mr. Gantz enjoyed sporting events and was a fan of the LA Rams, Dodgers and Lakers. He was always there to support his sons at their running events. Mr. Gantz is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Warren Gantz. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Mary Lou Gantz of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; two sons, Pastor Chuck T. (Melynda) Gantz of Cortland, Ohio and John S. Gantz of Niles, Ohio; four grandchildren, Boyce, Nina, Taylor, and Hannah and one great grandson, Boyce T. Gantz. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren Family Mission.
