Paul E. Upshire, age 77, of Cortland,OH, died Monday, October 3,2005 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. He was born November 28, 1927 in Carbondale, WV, to Charles and Violet (Estep) Upshire. Formerly a long time Gustavus township resident, Mr. Upshire had lived in Cortland for the past year. Mr. Upshire was wounded while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during W.W. II; and was employed by American Welding in Warren, OH. His hobbies included making model airplanes, fishing, and was an avid sports and race fan. Mr. Upshire is survived by his wife, Phyllis M. (Walton) Upshire, whom he married May 13, 1961; four daughters, Phyllis Jean (Orville) Bartholomew of Conneaut Lake,PA, Vickie (Richard) Cox of Bristolville, OH, Kate (Ron) Kennedy of Bristolville, OH; and Mary (Manuel) Miller of Florida; four sons, Mike Graham of Warren,OH; Paul (Linda) Upshire of Bristolville,OH, Rich (Theresa) Upshire of Gustavus township,OH, and John (Tammy) Upshire of Newton Falls,OH; one brother, Chuck (Becky) Upshire of Arizona; one sister, Hazel Ferguson of Youngstown,OH; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, and a sister, Melba Barfield. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 6th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
