Cherry Valley, Ohio - Peggy Arleen Rodriguez, age 71, died on Thursday, May 11, 2017. She was born on July 20, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Eleanor Margaret (Kovach) and Michael Hovanick. Peggy was a 1964 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School. On June 2, 1969 she married Wilfredo "Chico" Rodriguez. She worked for the former Andover Industries for forty-two years and after they closed she worked at Wek Industries in Jefferson until she retired in 2013. Peggy was a "Jack Of All Trades" and could fix anything. She loved to fix cars and keep her yard looking its best. Her passion was working and lending a hand to anyone who needed help. Peggy is preceded in death by her father, Michael Hovanick; her grandparents who raised her, Amalia and Charles Kovach, a nephew Peggy helped to raise, Chuck Kovach and her sister An Zimmer. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Chico Rodriguez of Cherry Valley; her mother, Eleanor M. Hovanick of Orwell, Ohio; a niece and nephew she helped raise, Lucy A. Hovanick and Clayton "Skippy" Kovach; a sister, Carol (Roy) Mohr of Chardon, Ohio; a brother, Michael (Margaret) Hovanick of Rome and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church 3353 State Route 6, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. John Germaine officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery.
