PHILLIP R. FOBES, SR., age 79, died Monday, October 8, 2007, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born February 23, 1928, in Williamsfield, Ohio, to Ray R. Fobes and Wavie (Tanner) Fobes. He was a 1945 graduate of Williamsfield High School. Mr. Fobes worked for Yoder Brothers, Inc. for thirty years and also for the Ashtabula Area City Schools for twelve years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Mr. Fobes married Jesse (Pinelli) on May 5, 1973, and she preceded him in death in November 1987. He is also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Morris and Bob Fobes; and a sister, Doris Simon. He is survived by a son, Phillip Ray Fobes, Jr.; a daughter, Julie Hare; one brother, Cecil Fobes of Williamsfield,OH; two sisters, Wava Abbuhl of Williamsfield,OH, and Janet Jones of Orwell,OH; and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Burial will follow in Williamsfield Center Cemetery.
