Phyllis Mary Upshire

Cortland, Ohio - Phyllis Mary Upshire, age 75, died on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at her home in Cortland, Ohio. She was born on August 29, 1936, in Greenbrier, West Virginia, a daughter of Alice Florence (McClung) and George Washington Walton. Mrs. Upshire was a Gustavus resident for almost sixty years, having been in Cortland for the past seven years. A wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed being around her children and grandchildren and was involved in whatever the kids were into. She loved to cook and play bingo and corn hole. Mrs. Upshire is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Wayne B. Graham and her second husband Paul Edward Upshire; a sister, Gladys Chandler and an infant great grandson. Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Jean (Orville) Bartholomew of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, Vickie L. (Richard) Cox and Ila Kay (Ron) Kennedy both of Bristol, Ohio; four sons, Wayne "Mike" (Stacey) Graham of Gustavus, Ohio, Paul M. (Rebecca) Upshire of Champion, Ohio, Richard K. (Theresa) Upshire of Kinsman, Ohio and John C. (Tammy) Upshire of Farmdale, Ohio; two sisters, Loreida (George) Bowling of Kentucky and Linda (Merle) Smith of Wyoming; three brothers, George Walton of Ohio, Edward (Louise) Walton of Louisiana and Billy (Linda) Walton of Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; three step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Allan D. McCracken officiating.
