Rex Gealy

Rex Gealy, 75 years old, of Johnston Twp, OH, died on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. Rex was born on November 15, 2004, in Parkman, Ohio, to the late John Gealy and the late Alice (Cummins) Gealy. A long time Johnston resident, Mr. Gealy retired from Trinity, Inc. in Greenville, PA, after 30 years as a millwright. He also worked as a log skidder since the age of 13, using his own team of horses. He was a member of the UAW; a 30-year member of the Moose Lodge in Mecca. He enjoyed mechanical work and yard work. Rex married Ruth E. Cottrell on September 30, 1950. Preceding him in death are his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Barnes and Marian Ferry; and two brothers, Bob and Richard Gealy. He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Gealy of Johnston Twp, OH; his son, Jimmy Gealy of Greene, OH; his daughter, Alice Gealy of Williamsfield, OH; his daughter, Linda Carter of Oaks Bluff, AL; his son, Mark Gealy of Newton Falls, OH; his daughter, Marilyn Smith of Andover, OH; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Friends and relatives will be gathering at the Gealy residence on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, from 2p.m. until 6p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Ruth Gealy, 6899 Ridge Rd., Cortland, OH 44410.
