Richard H. Betts,

Richard H. Betts, Sr., 76 years old, of Vienna, Ohio, died on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, in St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Richard was born on January 16, 1928, in Kinsman, Ohio, to the late Theodore Betts and the late Anna (Hill) Betts. Formerly of Johnston, Ohio, Mr. Betts was a resident of Vienna, Ohio, for the past 30 years, and wintered in Winter Haven, Florida. Mr. Betts served in the United States Merchant Marines in his younger years. He worked as a crane operator for Republic Steel in Warren, Ohio, for 34 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed working on and showing stock and antique cars, woodworking, playing golf, listening to country music and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Betts married Maye (McQuain) on May 17, 1971. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Maye Betts of Vienna, OH; his son, Richard H. (Alice) Betts, Jr. of Kinsman, OH; his daughter, Judy A. (Paul) Faatz of Johnston, OH; his daughter, Nancy J. Fiorino of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; his son, John W. (Gloria) Bragg of Warren, OH; his son, Kenny R. (Judy) Bragg of Warren, OH; his brother, Thomas Betts of Johnston, OH; his sister, Maxine Parker of Howland, OH; his sister, Peggy Reeder of Vienna, OH; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2004, at 11:00a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, with Rev. Rich Whipkey officiating. Burial follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 24, 2004, from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. and on Monday from 10:00a.m. until the time of services.
