Cherry Valley, Ohio - Richard C. Rittinger Jr., 47, of Cherry Valley, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 in Andover, Ohio. He was born on August 29, 1958 in Cleveland to Richard C. Rittinger Sr and Dorothy L. (Howser) Opat. A Cherry Valley resident for many years, Mr. Rittinger was a resident of Leandro, California for over 20 years. While in California Mr. Rittinger worked as a carpenter in general construction and was employed as a butcher for Cunningham Sausage for many years. Mr. Rittinger formerly attended the Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed assisting others, collecting stones, gardening and hiking; and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Football fan. Mr. Rittinger is preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife Janice Rittinger of California; mother Dorothy (John) Opat of Williamsfield; father Richard C. Rittinger Sr. of Modesto, California; Daughters Elizabeth Rittinger of Reno, Nevada, Victoria Rittinger of Oregon; Step Father Donald L. Church Sr. of Williamsfield; sisters, Yvonne Quinn of Wayne, Amanda Cunningham of Andover, Vivian Buterbaugh of Wayne, Crystal Smith of Huntsburg; a brother, Donald L. Church Jr. of Windsor; his best friend Tom Fletcher of California and two grand daughters. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cherry Valley First Church of God, 2983 Sentinel Road, Dorset, OH, with Pastor Gary L. Morrison Sr. officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in Dodgeville Cemetery. No calling hours will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve-Ashtabula office, P.O.
