Johnston, Ohio - Richard J. "Dick" Clemson, age 82, died on Monday, October 28, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1930, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, a son of Nettie (Bixler) and Frank Clemson. A 1948 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, Mr. Clemson was a long time Johnston resident. Mr. Clemson served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for over twenty years for the former Republic Rubber of Youngstown, Ohio, until it closed. Mr. Clemson then worked as a mechanic for Howland Township for almost twenty-five years. He was a member of American Legion and the Baily Barto VFW Post in Johnston, Ohio. Mr. Clemson enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known to fix just about anything. On April 10, 1950, he married Betty L. Hellyer. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edward and two sisters, Alice and Ruth. Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Betty L. Clemson of Johnston, Ohio; a son, Craig "Mike" Clemson of Johnston, Ohio and two grandchildren, Christen and Craig. No public services will be held.
