Kentucky- Richard Lee Drnek, Sr., died on July 29, 2010, in Kentucky. He was born on August 23, 1935, in Aubrun Corners, Ohio, the son of Olive M. (Hughes) and Joseph I. Drnek. Mr. Drnek was a 1953 graduate of Andover High School. After high school he joined the United States Marine Corps from 1953 until 1956. Mr. Drnek was a self taught mechanical engineer, constructing and disassembling steel mills all over the world in twenty-seven different countries. He worked for Wean United of Warren, Ohio and Adamson Steel of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Drnek enjoyed woodworking, hunting, target shooting, playing the ponies and spending time with his faithful dog Jude. Preceding him in death are his parents; a son Richard Lee Drnek, Jr.; a daughter, Kathy Drnek and a sister, Phyllis Johnson. Survivors include his son, Ronald A. Drnek of Kentucky and three brothers, Ronald Joseph (Gigi) Drnek and Robert (Thelma) Drnek both of Andover, Ohio and Raymond (Susan) Drnek of Williamsfield, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Private burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemtery.
