Richard W. Whitely

Wayne, Ohio - Richard W. Whitely, Jr., age 53, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. He was born on January 15, 1957, in Tacoma, Washington, the son of Nancy Lee (Perusek) and Richard William Whitely, Sr. Rich was a 1975 graduate of Grand Valley High School. On November 5, 1977, he married Jane E. Krieg. Rich worked for Lincoln Electric for over twenty-four years before going to work for Kennametal in Orwell until he retired in 2008. He enjoyed working the family farm. Rich was involved in little league in Williamsfield for over fifteen years. He was a fan of Bruce Springsteen and John Wayne, a lover of history and the civil war; he enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, reading old western books. Rich is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy L. Whitely and a sister, Sally A. Windell. Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Jane E. Whitely of Wayne, Ohio; a daughter, Carla J. Whitely and Fianc� Jeremy Waldron of Williamsfield, Ohio; two sons, Joseph R. and wife Erika Whitely of Grafton, Ohio and Jamie L. and wife Katy Whitely of Colebrook, Ohio; his father, Richard W. Whitely, Sr. of Colebrook, Ohio; four sisters, Susan A. (Charles) Morris of Colebrook, Bonnie L. (Rod) Holzapfel of Kinsman, Ohio, Debra J. (Kenneth) Loveland of Geneva, Ohio and Katie (Bart) deNijs of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; a brother, James P. (Rebecca) Whitely of Colebrook, Ohio and a brother-in-law Chuck Windell of Colebrook, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00am at Baumgardner funeral Home 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Orwell North Cemetery in Orwell, Ohio.
