Richard W. Whitely

Richard W. Whitely, Sr., age 83, of Colebrook township, OH, died Wednesday, July 13, 2016,at his home. He was born October 16, 1932, in Colebrook, OH, a son of Leo Thomas and Irene Agatha (Berry) Whitely. A lifetime Colebrook resident, Mr. Whitely owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. He was also employed at Kennametal Corporation in Orwell for 46 years, retiring in 2005. Mr. Whitely was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orwell, OH. He married Nancy Lee (Perusek) on November 15, 1954, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 2, 2006. He is also preceded by his parents; his daughter, Sally A. Windell; and his son, Richard W. Whitely, Jr. He is survived by his son, James (Rebecca) Whitely of Colebrook, OH; his four daughters, Susan (Herbert) Buettner of Richmond township,OH, Bonnie (Rod) Holzapfel of Kinsman,OH, Debbie (Ken) Loveland of Trumbull township, OH, and Katie (Bart) deNijs of Mechanicsburg, OH; his daughter-in-law, Jane Whitely of Wayne township, OH; his son-in-law, Chuck Windell of Colebrook, OH; his brother, Thomas (Andrea) Whitely of Colebrook, OH; and many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH, with Pastor Laurie Krieg and Rev. Jeff Stealey officiating. Burial will follow in Orwell North Cemetery, Orwell, OH. Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 17th from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
