Rita E. MacMichael

Andover, Ohio - Rita E. MacMichael, age 88, died on Monday, July 16, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on December 4, 1923, in Monessen, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Senia Marie (Pouttu) and Julius Edward Nicolaus. Mrs. MacMichael was a 1941 graduate of Williamsfield High School. In 1942 she married Robert S. MacMichael. She was formerly a member of the Andover First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post No. 943 of Ashtabula, Ohio. Mrs. MacMichael enjoyed playing cards, flower gardening, doing embroidering, oil painting and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of fifty-one years, Robert S. MacMichael. Survivors include four daughters, Terry M. (Wayne) McCoy of Knoxville, Tennessee, Ann C. (John) Armstrong of Williamsfield, Ohio, Pam L. (Charles) Krothe of Carmel, Indiana and Val J. (Neal) Slusher of Andover, Ohio; her sister, Dorothy Hedrick of Ashtabula, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Toni, Creig, Brian, Judd, Carey, Ross, Heather and Travis; thirteen great grandchildren, Tania, Jeremy, Kayla, David, Sara, Sean, Judd, Dale, Julius, Teah, Kailyn, Alex and Tyler and four great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00am at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleveland Street, Andover, Ohio.
