Robert L. Burns, 88 years old, of Kinsman, Ohio, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. Robert was born on August 26, 1915, in Kinsman, Ohio, to the late Merle Burns and the late Marguerite (Crouch) Burns. A lifelong Kinsman resident, Mr. Burns was employed by Mullens Manufacturing in Warren for 18 years and for Halsey Taylor, formerly in Warren, for 12 years, retiring in 1980. He then was employed as a custodian at the Gustavus Elementary School for 5 years. Mr. Burns was a German Prisoner of War having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Harry Lees Post #506 American Legion, Kinsman. He enjoyed baseball and hunting. Mr. Burns married Virginia P. (Mead) on May 18, 1946. Preceding him in death are his parents; and two brothers, William and Nellis Burns. He is survived by his wife, Virginia P. Burns of Kinsman, OH; his brother, Richard Burns of Hartford, OH; his brother, Daniel Burns of Brookfield, OH; his sister, Josephine Roland of Youngstown, OH; his sister, Marian Moon of Niles, OH; his sister, Doris Coxson of Kinsman, OH; and his sister, Betty Pinter of Mantua, OH. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at 11:00a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Reverend Marian Rodriguez officiating.
