Robert L. Copeland

Robert L. Copeland, age 83, of Andover, Ohio, died Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH. He was born December 29, 1931, in Warren, PA, a son of Harold M. and Thelma A. (Fuller) Copeland. A resident of Andover since 2005, Robert was a former long time Ashtabula resident. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Okaida, Japan. Robert was employed as a sheet metal worker for Local #33 in Cleveland, retiring in 1989 after 32 years. He attended the Victory Assembly of God Church in Coitsville, Ohio. He enjoyed woodworking making furniture pieces for family; and fishing and hunting because of his love for the outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed working on cars. He also loved his dog "Midnight". Robert is survived by his wife, Mary F. O'Hare Copeland, whom he married June 10, 2000, of Andover; daughter, Cathy (Jim) Ewing of Dorset, OH, daughter, Robin Copeland, son, Greg (Brenda) Copeland of Andover, OH, daughter, Linda (Mike) Copeland of Massillon, OH; step daughter, Deb O'Hare of Denver, CO, step son, William (Robin) O'Hare of Andover,OH, step daughter, Kathryn (Pat) Vince of Poland, OH, step son, Randall O'Hare of Andover, OH; two brothers, Chris (Rene') Copeland and Bill Copeland, both of Ashtabula, OH; five sisters, Ruby Roderick of Jefferson,OH, Carol (David) Crisswell of Boardman,OH, Marlene (Lawrence) Fowler, Lila Desorbes, and Joan Copeland, all of Ashtabula,OH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Penny (Higley) Copeland; two infant great grandsons; three brothers, Claude, Harold, and Lawrence Copeland; a sister-in-law, Sue Copeland; and three brother-in-laws, John Roderick, William Desorbes, and Leonard DeAngelo. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Vernon township, OH. Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 28th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
