Robert Kapis, Sr., 50 years old, of Andover, OH, died on Friday, February 6, 2004, at Lake East Hospital in Painesville, OH. Mr. Kapis was born in Ashtabula, OH, on January 12, 1054, to the late Stephen J. Kapis, Jr. and the late Anna (Kostelnick) Kapis. Mr. Kapis, a life long area resident, owned and operated Kapis Excavating for about 30 years. He enjoyed Nascar, Elvis music, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Colleen M. (Daniel) Cingel of Garfield Heights, OH; his son, Robert (Catherine) Kapis, Jr. of Mentor, OH; his five sisters, Janet Mortensen of Linesville, PA; Christine Bleshoy of Atlanta, GA; Kathleen Stockton of Wetumpka, AL; Linda Thomas of Gainesville, FL; and Karen Dewey of Andover, OH; his two brothers, Thomas Kapis of Andover, OH; and Ron Kapis of Kent, OH; his two granddaughters, Haliegh Cingel and Ashley Cingel; his grandson, Daniel Cingel; and his stepmother, Mary Ann Kapis of Jefferson, OH. Funeral services will be held at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at 7:00pm. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, February 10, from 4:00pm until the time of services. Cremation will follow the services.
