Williamsfield, Ohio - Robert Dwight Logan, age 84, died peacfully at his home, on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born on December 18, 1930, in Williamsfield, Ohio, a son of Floyd Difford and Hester Mae (Smith) Logan. He was a 1949 graduate of Williamsfield High School and earned a degree from Blackburn School of Law. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Formerly of Orwell, Ohio, from 1960 to 1988 he owned and operated Huntley Jewelry in Orwell, Ohio and was also a Horologist. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Windsor VFW Post. Mr. Logan was a lifetime member of the Williamsfield Grange and a member of the Orwell Rotary Club. He served as President of the City Council in Orwell for 14 years. While in Orwell, he started the Orwell First Aid Squad. He was a member and past treasurer of the Orwell Gun Club. After retiring to his family homestead in Williamsfield, he continued repairing clocks and jewelry in his spare time. He served as Zoning Administrator in Williamsfield for 10 years and as secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals for a number of years. He enjoyed golf, playing pool, fishing, reading, computers and sailed passionately. On October 5, 1998 he married M. Rae Durrua. Mr. Logan is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Darl Smith Logan. A Loving husband and step-father, he is survived by his wife, Rae Durrua-Logan of Williamsfield, Ohio; 5 stepchildren; Lara R. (Dale) Reibold of Andover, Ohio, Cara E. Codney, Emporia, Kansas, David W. Codney II, Lebo, Kansas, Amy E. Codney Houston, Texas and Jennifer M. (Thomas) King, Emporia, Kansas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren Amber, Matthew, Stephen, Michael, Tiffany, Trestan, Michael, Ryan, Eowynn, Lyra, Eden, David, Kyra and Gwendolynn; 3 nieces, Darla Carter, Jacklunn (David) Olson and Lori (Bob) Coleman and 9 great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 4:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Services, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will be in the Williamsfield Center Cemetery. No calling hours will be observed.
