Robert J. McConnell

Robert J. McConnell, age 89, of Richmond township, Ohio, died Saturday, December 31, 2005, at his home. He was born December 7, 1916, in Dorset, Ohio, to Grant and Ruth (Flack) McConnell. Mr. McConnell was a lifetime Richmond township resident where he owned and operated a dairy farm. He attended the Penn Line Church of Christ in Pierpont and was a long time Grange member. He enjoyed bird watching, was a Cleveland Indians fan, and he loved his dogs. He especially enjoyed having his family visit the farm through the years. He is survived by his wife, V. Lucille (Calaway) McConnell, whom he married February 14, 1948; his daughter, Jeannette M. (Chip) McConnell-Snow of Austinburg, OH; his son, Dale L. (Patty) McConnell of Richmond township, OH; his four grandchildren, Megan Snow, Rita McConnell, Dale R. McConnell, and Jessica McConnell; and one sister, Betty Congdon of Jefferson, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Paul McConnell; two brothers, Russell and Bill McConnell; one sister, Lucille Springer; and four cousins, Paul Flack, Jean (Flack) Swanson, and Robert and Lee Anthony. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover,Ohio, with Rev. David Flack, Rev. Ronald Flack, and Rev. Gary L. Kendall, Jr. officiating. A private graveside service for burial of cremated remains will take place in Dorset Cemetery.
