Andover, Ohio-Robert J. "Red" Forsythe Sr., age 67, died on Friday, November 10, 2006. A lifelong Andover resident, Red was born on May 7, 1939 in Andover, Ohio to Samuel T. and Frieda G. (Steele) Forsythe. He attended Andover High School until joining the United States Navy. Red was in quality control for the Perry Nuclear Plant for many years, painted for the Geo Cornell Painting Company, and managed the former Fairway Lounge and Golf Course. He was a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles AERIE No.4035, Andover, the Mecca Moose Club, and the Linesville VFW. Red enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing solftball. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Pepe. Survivors include a daughter, Anne M. Gonzalez of West Palm Beach, Florida; a son Robert J. "R.J." (Jordona) Forsythe of Sunrise, Florida; his former wife Elisabeth Forsythe, of West Palm Beach, Florida; two sisters, Alberta Bates of Andover, Ohio, and Nancy Kirby of Arizona; four brothers, William and Frank Forsythe both Andover, Ohio, Richard Moore, of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, and Samuel Forsythe of Fort Myers, Florida and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
