Robert L. Shaffer

Robert L. Shaffer, 73, died on Saturday, June 3,2006 in Warren, Ohio. He was born on September 9, 1932, in Kinsman, Ohio, to Forrest L. and Gladys I. (Wall) Shaffer. A lifelong Kinsman resident, Mr. Shaffer as a young man helped out at the family gas station and farmed for Mac Davis. He retired in January of this year after many years of being the custodian for the Kinsman Nutrition Site. Mr. Shaffer attended the Kinsman United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years; a member of the Kinsman Conservation Club; the Golden Aires; and the Kinsman Nutrition Site. He was an avid fan and attended all the games of the Joseph Badger Basketball, Baseball and Softball teams. Mr. Shaffer enjoyed playing cards and bingo. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a brother, Gene (Patricia) Shaffer of Kinsman, OH; two sisters, Mary Shaffer of Vienna, OH, and Carol (Richard) Rodgers of Vernon, OH; and a few nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 7th from 6 to 8 P.M..
