Robert D. VanGorder, age 54, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, PA. He was born November 5, 1952, in Greenville, PA, to James D. and Lottie E. (Fitch) VanGorder. A lifetime Kinsman resident, Mr. VanGorder was a 1972 graduate of Badger High School. He was employed as a truck driver for BDB Trucking out of Warren, Ohio. Mr. VanGorder formerly attended the Andover Christian Church, and in his youth attended the Kinsman Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He was a member of the Cortland Moose Lodge. He was an avid CB radio user, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. VanGorder loved music and was very talented at playing various instruments. Mr. VanGorder is survived by his wife, Ivy J. (Furr) VanGorder, whom he married July 2, 1988, of Kinsman; his daughter, Holly McGinnis of Niles,OH; his step son, Gregory (Heather) Sharpe of Champion,OH; his parents, James and Betty VanGorder of Kinsman; sister, Norma Hartz of Jamestown, PA; brother, Wayne VanGorder of Linesville, PA; sister, Colleen Smith of Bristolville,OH, and sister, Lori Brinsky of Niles,OH; and three grandchildren, Dustin, Cameron, and Brody. He is preceded in death by a step son, Bobby Sharpe, and his brother, Floyd E. VanGorder. A funeral service will be on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery.
