Robert W. "B.B." Brainard

Robert W. "B.B." Brainard, age 92, of Kinsman, OH, died Friday, November 4, 2016, at his home. He was born April 21, 1924, in Burghill, OH, a son of George and Grace (Weir) Brainard. A lifelong area resident, Robert attended the Vernon School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Africa and Italy; and was employed as a machinist for American Welding for 35 years. He was a member of the Harry Lees Post #506 American Legion in Kinsman and the VFW in Gustavus. He was one of the founding members of Bronzewood Golf Course in Kinsman and was an avid golfer. Throughout his life he also enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, spending time with his family, and attending his grandchildrens' sporting events. He enjoyed his independence and his coffee and lunch gatherings with his friends as well. Robert married his wife, Marie (Verina) Brainard in 1948, and she preceded him in death in 1984. He is also preceded by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Sandy Brainard; and his six older siblings, Kenneth, James, Carl, George, Edward, and Frances. He is survived by his son, Rob Brainard of Youngstown, OH, and his grandson, Robbie; his daughter, Pam (Dave) Hennon of Kinsman,OH, and grandchildren, Mandy and Seth; his daughter, Peg (Randy) Pykare of Kinsman, OH, and grandchildren, Alley and Samantha; his son, Tom (Kim) Brainard of Kinsman,OH, and grandchildren, Katie (Jimmy) Woodford and Megan, and two great grandchildren, Broc and Ella. Private services will be held for the family. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Kinsman Cemetery.
