Ronald C. "Smitty" Smith, age 70, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at his home. He was born June 6, 1948, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, a son of Ralph Herman Smith and Rose Anne (Kircher) Smith. A lifelong Kinsman resident, Mr. Smith was employed as a truck driver for the Ohio Department of Transportation where he retired after more than 37 years of service. He went on to drive truck for the Warren Tribune delivering newspapers. Mr. Smith was a member of the Kinsman United Methodist Church; and a lifetime member of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department. He volunteered for Nesface for many years. Mr. Smith enjoyed spending time with his family, going camping, and tinkering in his garage. He is survived by his wife, Donna J. (Baldwin) Smith, whom he married September 23, 1978, of Kinsman; daughter, Regina Moore of Masury, Ohio, son, Ken (Pam) Boles of Kinsman, Ohio, son, Donnie (Jennifer) Boles of Carlsbad, New Mexico, daughter, Kimberly (David) Funderburg of Solon, Ohio; 12 Grandchildren; 5 Great Granddaughters; and 4 sisters, Sharon Hopkins of Cortland, Ohio, Elaine Mathews of Fowler, Ohio, Margaret Stiles of Grass Lake, Michigan, and Rebecca Coxson of Kinsman, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his step mother, M. Ruth Smith. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Kinsman United Methodist Church, 8362 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Renae T. Meggitt officiating.
