Rosalie L. Hipkins

Rosalie L. Hipkins, age 96, of Cortland, OH, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at Over the Rainbow Adult Day Center. She was born February 25,1918, in Verona, PA, a daughter of John and Lucy Belle (Carlton) Gribble. A long time resident of Cortland, Mrs. Hipkins was employed at Packard Electric in Warren for 28 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the North Mar Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Warren, OH. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, vegetable gardening, growing strawberries, sewing, and doing word search books. Mrs. Hipkins also enjoyed attending the monthly Packard Electric retirement dinners. She married Donald E. Hipkins on June 21, 1936; and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1972. She is also preceded by her son, Dennis E. Hipkins; her two sisters, Loella Kyser and Betty Bell; and her brother, Marion Gribble. She is survived by her five daughters, Patricia Hipkins of Lititz, PA, Marilyn (Graham) Forster of Gustavus township, OH, Donna (David) Ruhl of Kinsman, OH, V. Lynn Hipkins of Duff, TN, and Vivian (Michael) Glancy of Billings, Montana; her daughter-in-law, Karen Hipkins of Gustavus township, OH; 8 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, OH. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Vernon, OH. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Over the Rainbow Adult Day Center, 110 Windsor Dr., Cortland, OH 44410.
