Roxie P. Coltman, age 91, of Wayne township, OH, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at her home. She was born September 6, 1922, in Lorain, OH, a daughter of John T. and Lillie P. (Dutter) Briggs. A long time Wayne resident, Mrs. Coltman was formerly of Gustavus. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Wayne for many years. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Andover. Mrs. Coltman served as a 4-H leader; and was a member of the Wayne Congregational Church Missionary Society. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Coltman is survived by her husband of 71 years, Thomas D. Coltman, whom she married January 17, 1943, of Wayne; her two sons, Thomas L. Coltman, Sr. and Kenneth R. (June) Coltman, both of Wayne township; her one daughter, RoxieAnn (Frank) Rossiter of Hiram, OH; daughter-in-law, Sandra Coltman of Wayne township; 6 Grandchildren, Tom L. (Donna) Coltman, Jr. of Wayne township, Russ (Kenna) Coltman of Conneaut, OH, Suzanne (Brian) Theobald of Trenton, OH, Kim (Brian) Stark of Edgerton,OH, Brandy (Jason) Collings of Wayne township, and Janet (Patrick) Horton of Indianapolis, IN; 17 Great Grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Kocab of Kinsman, Tim, Josh, Jon, and Liz Coltman, all of Wayne township, Bennett, Elizana, Caleb, Ethan, and Quin Coltman, all of Conneaut, OH, Cassie, Alanna, and Brooks Theobald, all of Trenton, OH, Holly, Evan, and Brayden Stark, all of Edgerton, OH, and Hunter Collings of Wayne township. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eunice Cromwell and Catherine Griggs; and three brothers, Floyd, John, and Roy Briggs. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery, Wayne township, OH. Calling hours will be on Friday, March 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
