Ruth E. Bang, age 89, of Andover, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was born January 4, 1926, in Copley, Ohio, a daughter of Roy H. and Eva (Hoffmeyer) Wentink. A long time Andover resident, Mrs. Bang was a 1945 graduate of Andover High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Youngstown State University, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Sorority. Mrs. Bang served in the U.S. Nurse's Cadet Corps and was employed as a 1st grade teacher for Pymatuning Valley Schools for 32 years. She was a member of the Andover Christian Church and the Penn View Quilters. She loved music, painting, playing cards, quilting, and her flower gardens; and she enjoyed traveling to Alaska and Hawaii, and fishing and boating on Pymatuning Lake. Mrs. Bang married Dr. Edwin W. Lossee on May 2,1946, and he preceded her in death in 1967. She married her second husband, Veryl W. Bang in 1970 and was preceded in death by him in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Dorothy Wentink; four brothers, Russell, Ralph, Robert, and Roy Wentink; sister-in-law, Donna Wentink; and beloved sister-in-law and best friend, Lorna Wentink. She is survived by her three daughters, Edwina (Robert Sr.) Payne of Andover, OH, Linda (Quint) Goentzel of Chugiak, AK, and Audean Adzima of Lakewood, CO; her six grandchildren, Robert (Jacqui) Payne of Williamsfield, OH, Daniel E. Payne of Andover, Christian M. Payne of Andover, Megan J. Payne of Akron, OH, Logan Ryan (Joanne) Haines of Chugiak, AK, Nathan R. (Kaleen) Haines of Chugiak, AK; her eight great grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Payne-Wolfe, Trey Payne, Saige Payne, Macie Payne, Dean Haines, Reed Haines, Grant Haines, and Ashley Haines; her beloved sister, Shirley (Miles Wolfgang) Corlett of Sheffield township, OH; brother, Donald (Theresa) Wentick of Tacoma, WA; two sister-in-laws, Grace Wentink of Elyria, OH, and Helen Wentink of Columbia, SC; and many loving nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held for the immediate family in West Williamsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Earth Angel Farm, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, which supports individuals with physical and developmental disabilities by improving their health and lives, 983 Niles Cortland Rd.
