Ruth Jane Burr

Ruth Jane Burr, age 77, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Friday, January 6, 2012, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, PA. She was born January 7, 1934, in Weathersfield Township, Ohio, a daughter of Louis F. and Ruth (Tillery) Green. She married Lowell H. Burr on November 17, 1952. Mrs. Burr was a foster parent for a number of years and retired from working as a supervisor of laundry and housekeeping at Cortland Quality Care. More recently she had worked part time at Miller Memorial Nursing Home in Andover. Jane, as she preferred to be called, attended the Kinsman Senior Nutrition Site group and enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, gardening, and playing with her dog, Lady. She especially enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters. She is survived by her son, Randy (Carla) Burr of Gustavus Township,OH; her two granddaughters, Elizabeth Burr of Kinsman, OH, and Allison Burr of Columbus, OH; her brother, William Green of Girard, OH; two sisters, Shirley Rounds of Girard, OH, and Pat Calland of Lynchburg, VA; a step sister, Rosetta Reese of Youngstown,OH; a step brother, Louis Reese of Poland, OH; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 6, 2009; her parents; three brothers, David, Robert "Jim", and Louis Green; and two sisters, Ethel Estes and Louise Kelch. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Joe Doran officiating. A funeral service will follow starting at 4:00 PM. Mrs. Burr will be cremated following services and a private interment will take place in Kinsman Cemetery.
