Ruth E. Kochemba

Ruth E. Kochemba, age 79, of Gustavus township, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home in Hartford, Ohio. She was born January 21, 1933, in Paulding, Ohio, a daughter of Howard and Florence (Pelton) Lucas. A lifetime resident of Gustavus, Mrs. Kochemba was the 6th generation of the Pelton family who founded the town of Gustavus. She married Richard R. Kochemba, Sr., on March 19, 1955. She was a 1950 graduate of Gustavus High School; and also was a graduate of Trumbull Business College. She was a housewife and owned and operated a dairy farm, Hilltop Farms, with her husband. Mrs. Kochemba was a member of the Burdette Edgar Totten VFW Post 6263 Ladies Auxiliary; and the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; and ceramics. Mrs. Kochemba is survived by a son, Richard R. (Mary) Kochemba, Jr., of Gustavus, a daughter, Lori J. (Clifford) Hineman of Gustavus, a son, William H. (Marsha) Kochemba of Gustavus; 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband on July 22, 1990. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. David W. Olshevski, Mrs. Kochemba's nephew, officiating. Calling hours will be on Friday from 11:00AM until the time of services.
