Andover, Ohio-Ruth Evelyn Markley, age 87, died on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Andover Village Retirement Community. She was born on February 3, 1924 in Maywood, California, the daughter of Verena C. (Soland) and Leonard C. Herman, Sr. Mrs. Markley was a 1943 graduate of Kinsman High School and then graduated from Beauty School. She had her own shop until she retired in 1973. On October 12, 1943 she married Alex C. Markley. Mrs. Markley was a member of the Andover Christian Church, the Mardi Club, the Kinsman High School Alumni and of the Mennonite Family Historical Society. She was interested in Genealogy of her family and of others, publishing a book on the Markley family. Mrs. Markley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of thirty-nine years, Alex C. Markley; a sister, Elsie Spring; a brother, Leonard Herman, Jr. and a granddaughter, Violet Kay Markley. Survivors include a daughter, Christina L. (David) Kaderly of Geneva, Ohio; four sons, Curtis C. (Reba) Markley of Orwell, Ohio, Leonard D. Markley of Akron, Ohio, Brian D. Markley of Pennsylvania, and Karl K. (Stephanie) Markley of Andover, Ohio, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Robert Gears officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, March 18th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
