Ruth E. Tuttle, age 91, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She was born February 13, 1920 in Wayne Township, Ohio, a daughter of Claude H. and Lena Rue (Ogram) Westlake. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Tuttle owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband for many years; and was employed at the Waynewood Restaurant in Wayne for twelve years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Andover, where she played piano and taught Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Tuttle was a volunteer for the reading program at Pymatuning Valley Schools ; was a member of the Williamsfield Study Club, and the Pymatuning Chapter of AARP. Her hobbies included flowers, gardening, journal writing, scrapbooking, sewing, and crocheting. Mrs. Tuttle married Arthur E. Tuttle on Sept. 10, 1938, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1984. Also preceding her in death are her parents; and two son-in-laws, Dewey Fertig, Sr. and Wilbern Summers, Sr. She is survived by her four daughters, Ruth M. (Wilber) Hall of Williamsfield,OH, Janice K. Fertig of Conneaut,OH, Connie A. Summers of Cherry Valley Township,OH, and Laurie A. (Bill) Warren of Colebrook,OH; her one sister, Winetta M. Latuk of Concord, OH; 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Tuttle's family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at the nursing home and her hospice providers. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. Burial will follow in West Williamsfield Cemetery.
