Ruth E. Woodard

Ruth E. Woodard, age 88, of Andover, Ohio, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Jefferson Health Care Center. She was born May 2, 1924, in Garrettsville, Ohio, a daughter of Arthur C. and Mildred A. (Sheller) Hewins. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Woodard was a 1942 graduate of Andover High School. She was employed by The Andover Bank; and by Miller Memorial Health Care Center from 1979 until 1999 as a cook. She was a member of the Andover Christian Church. Mrs. Woodard enjoyed being with her family and making others laugh. She was always a positive, uplifting person throughout her life. Mrs. Woodard married Donal G. Woodard on July 31, 1943; and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1985. She is also preceded in death by her one son, Kevin Alan Woodard; four daughters, Arlene Ann Woodard, Cheryl Lynn Woodard, Leigh Diane Woodard, and Glena Jean Norris; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Woodard; one infant grandson; one brother, Charles Hewins; and one sister, Joanne Hunter. She is survived by three sons, D. Rex (Carol) Woodard of Jonesville, VA, Brian G. (Lynn) Woodard of Ashtabula,OH, and Craig L. (Debora) Woodard of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Ann M. (LeRoy) McNeilly of Andover, OH, and Jill A. Lewis (Dan Pierman) of Rome,OH; 15 Grandchildren, Teressa Trebella, Mark Bogadi, Jennifer Cruise, Brad McNeilly-Anta, Jodi Heath, Jared McNeilly, Erica Woodard, D. Adam Woodard, Erin Woodard, Nicholas Woodard, Kyle Woodard, Corey Ruth Woodard, Nichole Lewis, Derek Lewis, and D. Abe Woodard; 24 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-great grandchild; and a special friend, Lenny Lewis. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Andover Christian Church, Stillman Ave., Andover, OH, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 6th from 5 to 8 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH.
