Salvadore Joseph Petrella

VALRICO, Fla. - Salvadore Joseph Petrella, 86, formerly of Niles, went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, Thursday morning, July 29, 2010. He was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Niles, the son of Frank and Victoria Cuccarese Petrella. Mr. Petrella was a World War II veteran having served two terms in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired draftsman, having worked for many years with the Helco Co. in Cortland. Mr. Petrella is survived by his wife, Jean D. Stemm Petrella, whom he married on Jan. 2, 1993; a son, John D. (Dorothy) Petrella of McDonald; and two sisters, Marie Monforte and Anna Martin of Fontana, Calif. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Petrella; three brothers, Rocky, Anthony and James Petrella; and a sister, Rita Toland. Burial will be in Niles Union Cemetery in Niles.
