Sean Thomas Martin

Sean Thomas Martin, age 24, of San Leon, TX, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at his residence. He was born December 12, 1989, in Houston, TX, a son of Roger Martin and Patsy Anderson. Sean was raised in Andover, Ohio, where he was baptized and graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School. Sean had recently acquired his Tankerman license and went to work for the United States Coast Guard as a Junior Merchant Mariner Tankerman PIC and was applying for his Captain's License. Prior to being a Tankerman, he worked for several years as a Restoration Technician. He helped with several disaster relief projects including Galveston's recovery from Hurricane Ike. Sean was an established leader and made great efforts in helping others to learn their crafts while ensuring their safety. He showed great concern for other's wellbeing and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Sean is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Raymond and Alberta Bates; grandmother, Doris Anderson; two uncles, Jerry Epler and John Anderson; and cousin, Cassandra Coder. Survivors include his son, Justin; his parents, Roger Martin and Patsy Anderson; sister, Melissa "Sissy" Eng and her husband, Austin; his grandparents, Thomas and Connie Martin; aunts and uncles, James and Gina Bocook, Timothy and Bryanna Martin, Richard and Tina Epler, Debbie Anderson Wilmeth, Ben and Rose Huerta, Jarrell and Earline Doty, Gerald Anderson; cousins, Joseph and his wife, Rachel, Phillip, Lexie, Eva, Joey, Gregory, Raxanne, Cara, Elizabeth, Rose, Justin, Billy, Nicole, Mikayla, Brennon, Mason, Bailey, Jerry, Janette, Jennifer and Cathy; and numerous family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, with Rev. Jerry Fritz officiating. Burial will follow in Williamsfield Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday, May 23rd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
