Andover, Ohio - Shirley L. Robinson, age 85, of Andover, Ohio, Died on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, Pennsylvania. She was born on August 20, 1924, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Florence J. (Jorgenson) and Lyle E. Smith. She was a 1942 graduate of Council Bluffs High School. Mrs. Robinson has an associate degree from Kirkwood Community College in Horticulture and an associate degree in art. She served in the United States Navy during World War II. On April 5, 1946, she married Clarence H. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson worked for the United States Postal Service in Andover for sixteen years and retired in 1991. She was a member of the Andover, Percy D. Hyatt American Legion Post No. 226. Mrs. Robinson enjoyed painting, drawing, sewing, gardening, and going bowling. She also loved animals and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians. Preceded her in death are her parents; her daughter, Robin Sue Brewster and a brother, Richard Smith. Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, C. "Rob" Robinson of Andover, Ohio; two daughters, Cathy J. Manley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Beth E. (Scott) Hudnall of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three granddaughters, Lori Johnson, Lesley Puffer and Jenna Kartune; seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Riley, Autumn, Carly, Michael, Bailey, and Shae; and a close friend, Wilda Nowakowski of Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm with military services held at 6:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio.
