Sidney W. McPaul

Williamsfield, Ohio Sidney W. McPaul, age 66, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at the Cleveland Clinic, after an extended illness. He was born on February 10, 1949, in Conneaut, Ohio a son of Patricia Ann (Phillips) and Bernard Cornelius McPaul. Sid was a 1967 gradate of Pymatuning Valley High School, earning his Bachelors degree from Kent State and his Masters degree in education from Youngstown State University. He taught for the Joseph Badger School system for thirty years. While at Badger, Sid coached boys basketball and boys golf and was the voice of the Badger Braves. On August 2, 1975 he married Pauline M. Gustafan. He kept stats for all P.V. sports for many years and was known to be the P.V. sport historian. A big Boston Celtics fan, Sid also was a fan of the Cleveland sports teams. He enjoyed his every thursday, Williamsfield Card Club and was an avid gardener . After he retired, Sid was a courier for the Andover Bank, and for the last twelve years he managed the local car wash. Sid is preceded in death by his father, Bernard C. McPaul and a nephew, Craig Copenhaver. Survivors include his wife of forty years, Pauline M. McPaul of Williamsfield, Ohio; two daughters, Margo S. McPaul of Warren, Ohio and Jennifer N. McPaul of Lakewood, Ohio; his mother, Patricia A. McPaul of Cortland, Ohio; two sisters, Deborah (Gene) Connors of Austintown, Ohio and Rebecca Dolan of Cortland, Ohio; many nephews and a niece as well as his beloved cat, Bubba. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio with Pastor David E. Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 8th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
