Simeon G. Standley

Simeon G. Standley, age 76, of Johnston township, OH, died Saturday, December 6, 2008, at his home. He was born August 25, 1932, in Johnston township, OH, the son of George H. and Gertrude (Syler) Standley. A lifelong Johnston resident, Mr. Standley was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was employed as a crane operator for Wean United in Warren, OH, for thirty years. His hobbies included woodworking. Mr. Standley is survived by his wife, Shirley E. (McFarland) Standley, whom he married Feb. 27, 1954, of Johnston; his son, David Standley of Gustavus township, OH; his daughter, Bonnie Klein of Johnston township,OH; one grandson, Steve Klein; one great grandson, Carter Klein; and two sisters, Lavonne Bump of Mecca, OH, and Cristina Lewis of Johnston township,OH. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Wilma Delucio. Mr. Standley will be cremated and no services will be held.
