Stanley Wasik, age 85, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was born December 24, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Mary (Fitto) Wasik. Mr. Wasik was a 1938 graduate of South High School in Pittsburgh, PA, a 1946 graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, and he received his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. A long time Kinsman resident, Mr. Wasik was employed as a teacher and coach at Vernon School, where he later became superintendant. In 1960 he became principal of Joseph Badger High School, and subsequently became superintendant of the Joseph Badger School District for many years. Mr. Wasik served in the United States Army in the 76th Infantry during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a long time member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and trustee; the Kinsman American Legion; the Retired Teachers Association of Ohio and Trumbull County; and he served on the board of directors for over 25 years at the Kinsman Boyd Home. Mr. Wasik was an avid sports fan. Mr. Wasik is survived by his wife, Janet E. (Artman) of Kinsman; his son, Robert (Mary) Wasik of Gaithersburg, MD; his daughter, Margaret (James) Lanoix of Boston, MA; three grandsons, David (Jennifer) Wasik of Richmond, VA, William (Monica) Wasik of Brooklyn, NY, and Andrew Lanoix of Boston, MA; one granddaughter, Jacqueline Lanoix of Boston, MA; two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Allison Wasik of Richmond, VA; and one sister, Nellie Buchleitner of Pittsburgh, PA. He is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,Ohio, with Rev. Larry Myers and Rev. Marian Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 8th from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
