Orwell, Ohio – Thomas Albert Linn, age 78, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at UHHS Geauga Hospital in Chardon, Ohio. He was born on January 2, 1938 in Lansing Township, Michigan, a son of Agnes (Breckenbach) and Gerald Linn. Mr. Linn was a 1956 graduate of Cleveland Benedict High School and served in the United States Air Force. On August 22, 1979 he married Patricia G. Swope. A lifelong auto mechanic, Mr. Linn formerly lived in Roaming Shores and was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church of Thompson, Ohio. Mr. Linn was an active member of the former Andover VFW, having served as its Commander. He enjoyed bowling and playing tennis. Mr. Linn is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of twenty-nine years, Patricia G. Linn, who died on March 29, 2008; a son, Scot Berghauser and three brothers, Edward, James and Charles Linn. Survivors include his son, Philip (Dawn) Berghauser of Kent, Ohio; three sisters, Mary (Ron) Hirko of Brookings, South Dakota, Judy Zellhofer of Willoughby, Ohio, and Julia Webb of Chester, New Hampshire; five brothers, Joseph Linn of Cleveland, Ohio, John “Jack” (Audrey) Linn of Richmond, Vermont, Robert (Chris) Linn of West Farmington, Ohio, David (Deborah) Linn of Chardon, Ohio and Paul Linn of Parkman, Ohio; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church, 8091 Plank Road, Thompson, Ohio 44086, with Rev. Donald G. Coulter officiating. Burial will follow in Hartsgrove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
