Dorset, Ohio - Thomas R. Taggart Jr., 55, a lifelong resident of Dorset, died on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Andover. He was born on December 1, 1950 to Thomas R. Taggart Sr and Ruth G. (Burgett) Taggart in Ashtabula, Ohio. Mr. Taggart was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson High School and served in the United States Army. He worked for the Ashtabula County Highway Department for over 27 years as a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Taggart volunteered for the Dorset Fire Department and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing bingo and spending time with his family. Preceding him in death are his parents, an infant brother, a sister Inez Pebbles, a stepson Larry Spieth and brother-in-law Gary Rose. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Roberta A. Rose, whom he married on February 26, 1982; a son Michael R. (Barbara) Taggart and sons Michael & Cody all of Ashtabula; step daughters Mary Ann (Ken) Mracek of Dorset, Lisa K. (William) Duhl of Rome; and six sisters, Joyce M. Mann and Barbara A. Taggart both of Dorset, Connie M. Kapferer of North Kingsville, Mary Lou Hill of Ashtabula, Susan J. Palmiter of Meadville, Pennsylvania, and Carol S. Sito of Pierpont. Calling hours will be on Thursday, May 25, 2006 from 10:00A.M. until Noon, at Baumgardner Funeral Home 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, followed by a graveside service at Dorset Cemetery.
